SpineTech is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website.
2. What data do we collect?
We only collect data you provide to us directly:
- Contact form — name, email address, company name and the content of your message.
- Knowledge guide sign-up — your email address, plus the moment you confirmed your sign-up. We record that confirmation because we must be able to demonstrate that you gave consent.
We do not collect special categories of personal data (such as health data or financial account numbers).
We do not track your behaviour on this website. No analytics, tracking or advertising software runs here, and we build no visitor profiles.
3. Why do we process your data?
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry or message | Legitimate interest / performance of contract |
| Sending the knowledge guide and its accompanying email series | Consent |
| Improving our website and services | Legitimate interest |
| Compliance with legal obligations | Legal obligation |
4. How long do we retain your data?
- Contact form messages — up to 2 years after the enquiry is resolved.
- Knowledge guide sign-ups — for as long as you remain subscribed; deleted within 30 days after unsubscribing. The record of your consent is kept for up to 1 year after unsubscribing, because we must be able to account for that consent.
- Legally required records — up to 7 years.
5. Do we share your data?
SpineTech never sells your data to third parties. We work with the following processors, with whom we have a data processing agreement:
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania) — delivery of the knowledge guide and its accompanying email series. Processed within the EU.
- Hostinger — our email environment. Contact form messages are sent from this website straight to our own mailbox; no external form service sits in between.
- Vercel — hosting and delivery of this website.
We conclude a data processing agreement with every processor.
We aim to keep all processing within the European Economic Area. Where a service does process outside the EEA, this takes place under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or a valid adequacy decision. Want to know which service processes where? Request the overview at info@spine-tech.nl.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the following rights:
- Access — you can request which personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data.
- Erasure — you can request deletion of your data ('right to be forgotten').
- Restriction — you can request restriction of processing in certain situations.
- Objection — you can object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. For our emails you need not write to us at all: every message carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
Send your request to info@spine-tech.nl. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
7. Cookies
This website sets no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. We use only what is technically necessary to make the site work. That is also why we do not ask you for cookie consent: there is nothing to allow or refuse.
8. AI on this website
We write at length about the responsible use of AI. You should therefore also know what we do here ourselves.
- No AI system analyses your behaviour on this site, assesses you or makes decisions about you.
- There is no chatbot on this site. The robot button at the bottom right is an ordinary link to our contact page — you will never unintentionally end up talking to a machine here.
- Messages you send us are read and answered by people. Where we use AI to prepare a draft reply, a colleague reviews and sends it.
- Copy on this site is produced with AI assistance under the editorial control of our team. We are responsible for what it says.
If this changes — because we do put an assistant on the site, for instance — we will state so here and at the point of use, before you start a conversation.
9. Security
SpineTech implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. Our systems run on European infrastructure with encrypted connections (HTTPS).
10. Changes
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date. In the event of significant changes, active subscribers will receive an email notification.
